After the announcement of the partnership with Bitfinex and the launch of the SWAPiX tool, SmartPay now brings updates and features for those who want to exchange their reais for tether and vice versa. And also for those who want to pay with tether and receive in reais. The news will be presented during Bitconf, a conference on bitcoin and blockchain, which between May 20 and 22 in São Paulo.
According to Rocelo Lopes, CEO of Smartpay, Swapix “is a blockchain with blockchain”. One of the novelties that will be presented first hand is the possibility for any person or establishment to accept tether as a payment method via Pix. “You pay in tether and the person receives reais in their checking account in a matter of seconds. Also, the new version of SWAPiX is going to be much faster, simpler and more intuitive”.
The first customer of the solution is Bitfinex, which will offer access to customers in Brazil using the solution exclusively until August. Thus, Smartpay is also announcing the full integration of SWAPiX into the Bitfinex platform and wallet apps that use Tron’s blockchain standards, such as SafePal and TronLink. Still in testing, this version, due to the technology of the Tron network, it will allow the user to no longer need to leave the platform to convert tether into reais.
Rocelo also reveals that, after the launch, SWAPiX already had approximately 1,500 transactions and the expectation is that this number will increase with the new versions. The company’s expectation is that the solution will help establishments to accept Tether in their sales. “We want everyone, regardless of nationality, who owns Tether or Pix, to be able to use the SWAPiX. In the future, the entry and exit port for an exchange will be via stablecoin. And that’s why we’re here, we’re experts in converting fiat (official currencies of countries) into crypto and vice versa,” he explains.
For Bitfinex, the partnership is the gateway for many to buy and trade crypto directly from the platform. According to Paolo Ardonio, CTO of the brokerage and who will also be at Bitconf, it is also an excellent alternative for people who work abroad and need to send money to their families in Brazil.
