The ecosystem Polkadot know that the region Latin America has great crypto potential, all studies show it, therefore, This past January 14, a meeting of the ecosystem with important representatives of the crypto world in Santiago de Chile, making this the first accurate contact with the community cryptographic.
The event took place in the Platinum building in Vitacura and was called Polkameetup Latam Santiago 2022. It should be noted that so far it has been the first face-to-face crypto meeting in Chile so far this year.
The meeting was attended by Úrsula O’Kuinghttons, Director of Public Relations at Parity Technologies, Mario Maldonado, moderator and ambassador of Polkadot, and Francisco Albornoz, also ambassador of the Polkadot ecosystem.
The meeting began with the help of Cristóbal Pereira, who is the Academic Director in Blockchain Academy Chile, who indicated that the Academy is training more than a thousand students in the areas of technology blockchain and crypto assets. He also added that a national survey will soon be carried out to identify the use and adoption of cryptocurrencies in the country.
Úrsula O’Kuinghttons showed enthusiasm at the meeting, she also made reference to the problem of interoperability that blockchains have, and Polkadot precisely comes to solve that, since it states that it is the solution to the interoperability of networks. In this regard, he indicated that: “The problem with the blockchains that we have now is that they do not connect with others. There is an interoperability problem. Polkadot is the new generation of blockchains, and if the rest are doing well, so is Polkadot.”
The Polkadot ambassadors in Chile have assured that this will not be the only event that will be held in the country by the ecosystem. Reference was also made to parachains at the meeting, and in this regard Maarmapa (Mario Maldonado) deepened that they are currently working on different projects and will participate in the next Parachain auctions, all with the aim of joining and connecting to the Relay Chain of Polkadot.
In his way of seeing things, there will be different Parachains, some will deal with the world of art, music and social networks, in his way of appreciating things, the parachains will be the evolution of the internet.
For his part, Francisco Albornoz placed special emphasis on the decentralization of the community, who considers that decentralization is the key to the evolution of ecosystems, empowering users is what makes this type of meeting possible at a local and international level.
