Last Monday, August 2, an agreement was signed between the Villarrica municipality in Paraguay and the Pracnyas-ArapyNet business group to digitize the municipality with technology blockchain as a tool for public administration.
The information released by the newspaper ABC in your edition digital last Tuesday, August 3, indicates that The agreement includes redesigning the Municipality’s web portal, in addition to offering real-time solutions to taxpayers through the use of the blockchain for greater transparency in tax collection.
The agreement was stamped with the rubrics of the mayor of the municipality Alejandro Aguilera and the head of the business group Jorge Valenzuela.
Regarding the signing of the agreement, Jorge Valenzuela pointed out that they expect a domino effect in the country, which will allow “Open a wide market where you can implement a profitable business model.”
“At the Pracnyas-ArapyNet Group we are dedicated to offering blockchain solutions and in this case we signed a joint work agreement with the municipality Villarrica, for the implementation of this type of technology.
This is going to achieve what people demand from the authorities, which is a more efficient and transparent management, qualities precisely of this technology. We hope that other municipalities will also want to implement it because it represents a giant step towards the future, “he said.
With this agreement, Villarrica becomes the first municipality in Paraguay to start the process of implementing this disruptive technology, with the aim of achieving greater efficiency in public management.
The agreement covers a disbursement of USD 151,000 that the company assures is an investment aimed at improving efficiency in municipal management, with blockchain technology being used for data transactions and not for virtual money, Valenzuela clarified.
The company must donate to the Municipality of Villarrica the necessary computer equipment to carry out the implementation of blockchain technology.
Meanwhile, Mayor Aguilera pointed out that with this agreement they seek to modernize and digitize the municipality at the same time that they wish to renew the website to make management transparent.
