Whoever was missing arrived. Palmeiras announced today (8) the release of its official fan token. It was the only one of the biggest soccer teams in São Paulo that had not yet adhered to this marketing and fan engagement strategy. The partnership is with Chiliz, the same company that has an agreement with São Paulo, Corinthians, Atlético Mineiro and Flamengo.

Token sales will begin “soon,” the club said. And it will be on the websites of Palmeiras and Socioscom, Chiliz’ platform. So, pFor those who buy $VERDAO there will be benefits such as giving their opinion in surveys on player jersey numbers and product design.

In addition, the Palmeiras fan token will give other exclusive and collectible rewards related to the club, according to a team statement. The surveys are on Socios.com. However, an Avanti fan member aged 18 and over may receive a token, which is non-transferable.

“In addition to being an important and new source of income, we believe that fan tokens will increase the digital connection with our fans,” said club president Maurício Galiotte.

“Joining Palmeiras is part of our expansion footprint in Brazil. Furthermore, it means that we have become partners with three of the four best teams at Conmebol Libertadores this year”, said Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Chiliz and Socios.com.

Socios.com has 1.3 million users from 167 countries. That’s because it’s for direct negotiation with the fan. The company opened offices in São Paulo, Madrid, Istanbul and Buenos Aires. It will also open offices in Italy and North America.
