The Oracle Corporation company held the awarding of its 1st Challenge Innovation on October 12, in which Ana Gabriela Hicks López and Lourdes Carolina Castañeda Chang, students of the Universidad Panamericana (UP), were winners of the second place with the presentation of a project based on the automation of a nursery with the use of technology blockchain and the internet for thingsIoT).
The young students of the Industrial Engineering career of the Aguascalientes Campus of the UP together with the student of the Campus Mexico, Juan Pablo Sánchez Henkel Moreno, to carry out the presentation of the automated incubator with IoT and Blockchain, they had training in this regard for a week by experts belonging to the Oracle team. It should be noted that the students thanks to their performance will now have the possibility of being part of Oracle working in the company full time.
From October 6 to 12, the young people had an itinerary which was divided into the presentation of Oracle technology that took place the first two days, then they had a day in which they dedicated themselves to structuring the project for the day. Next, put together the presentation of it and finally show it at the award ceremony.
The challenge was named “No Code Innovation Challenge” and in addition to the Universidad Panamericana, other contestants from the Universidad Nacional de Misiones (who took first place thanks to three contestants from the institution), the Iberoamericana and the Tecnológico de Monterrey were also invited by Oracle Academy and Oracle Innovation. The initial parameter to be a participant was to be a student in the last year of any degree that is related to various technologies.
Oracle Academy is a section of Oracle Corporation dedicated to providing free resources for the education of students regarding software, cloud technology, among others. This with the aim of training new innovative individuals with the ability at the same time to be technological leaders.
The objective of the students who were part of the challenge was to present a solution based on Oracle technologies for any problem that they wanted to use. To do this, they had to incorporate sustainable resources, “Phygital” experience, secure E-commerce (CX + Blockchain) and data traceability in the processes into their project.
To meet the requirements, according to the website of the institution, the students of the Universidad Panamericana used “Business home automation and automation (IoT), Electronic Commerce (CX) and Sustainability (IoT and Blockchain)” respectively.
Previously, the Universidad Panamericana and Oracle had operated together for various purposes, including in 2018 Oracle and the UP signed an alliance to promote and improve education at a social level. The company has also visited the educational institution for four consecutive years in which it makes a selection of students who are in the last semesters of careers who are related to the branches of testing and software development and programming for their recruitment and later your hiring in the company.
