Itaú will now offer cryptocurrency funds from BLP Crypto, the first manager of the segment in the country. Thus, the bank expands its offer in this segment. The institution has been quite interested in different formats of crypto products. And it believes that the ideal for those who have an investor profile in digital currencies, is to have up to 3% of investments in them.
BLP funds will be on the Itaú, Itaú Personnalité and Íon Itaú platforms. The BLP Digital 20 FIM is focused on retail investors and allows a minimum investment of R$ 100. The BLP Digital 40 FIM is for qualified investors, who have from R$ 1 million in investments in the financial market. The BLP Digital 100 FIM – IE is aimed at professional investors, who have invested BRL 10 million or more. In 2021, this fund was the most profitable among crypto assets, with a net return of 162.6%, according to BLP Crypto.
“With the security and robustness of Itaú, we will offer all investors a level of excellence and performance that used to be exclusive to professional and qualified investors,” said Ney Miyamoto, one of the partners at BLP Crypto.
In April 2022, Itaú began distributing a Hashdex fund. The bank has also been distributing exchange-traded index funds (ETFs ) since they arrived on the Brazilian market in April 2021 .
In addition, in May of last year, it launched the Itaú Index Blockchain Ações FX IE , which was not about crypto, but about shares of technology companies. One product, at the same time, was the Structured Transactions Certificate (COE).
