Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) joined the LACChain Global Alliance, which is dedicated to developing the environment blockchain in LAC (Latin America and the Caribbean), with the intention of expanding the team and capacities to provide the necessary assistance that the new current technological solutions that emerge merit.
LACChain is led by the Innovation Laboratory of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB Lab) and, as with ITAM, has joined various companies such as: Kamay Adventures, Trust for the Americas, Avasant and TCS; with the same intention of continuing to remain in the blockchain ecosystem and contribute to the development of the blockchain in Latin America and the Caribbean from the solutions side technological.
For its part, the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico is a private institute founded in 1946 that operates in Mexico City. Since approximately 2016, it has been venturing into the blockchain environment through courses and initiatives. In 2018 in the subjects of Politics and Economics, taking to its facilities talks about the future of finance where a topic they address is startups and the functionality of the blockchain within them.
Another area that addresses the blockchain is Technology and Science, where starting from there ITAM in 2020 was part of the project of the blockchain company Ripple, which was named University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI); initiative that is focused on “meet the demand for technological solutions and talents for the challenges of the global financial ecosystem. “ This was announced by the official blog of the Institute.
“We are very excited about the signing of this agreement. Since 2016 we have taught courses and promoted entrepreneurship initiatives around blockchain technologies. With the tools that the LACChain Alliance makes available to our community, a vast range of projects is opened with the potential to grow on a regional scale “. José Incera, the Director of ITAM’s Master in Information Technology and Administration for the LACChain blog, said.
Realizing this, ITAM already comes with knowledge and experience about what blockchain solutions it refers to, therefore it is qualified for this new union with LACChain, therefore it is a point in favor that will undoubtedly not bring more what benefits.
The central objective of LACChain with ITAM is to provide solution, understanding and knowledge to the community about the Blockchain and the problems it may face. The idea is that this can be achieved and that what contributes to it is the knowledge that the institution handles regarding the blockchain as well as the tools and methods that it can use to efficiently reach the community and then , after a time of teaching and learning, have an efficient training on the subject.
This union also has an inclusive social purpose, since the intention of reaching the community is coupled with the goal of ensuring that people who are part of populations that are not taken into account have a voice in social decisions and policies.
According to the LACChain web portal, the general objectives of the union between the company and the institution are: “ITAM will include in its courses related to blockchain the LACChain network as one of the reference architectures in the Latin America and the Caribbean region, LACChain will include ITAM in the working groups related to the areas of its specialization, creation of a reference program for students to carry out internships in network projects and to facilitate connection with entities within the LACChain community and holding workshops on blockchain and other relevant topics. “
Both this union and the rest have the same purpose, which is that through different strategies the blockchain ecosystem is known and it ends up being adopted. All focused on the Latin American and Caribbean territory.
