O Coritiba do Paraná will join the club of football clubs that tokenize assets. The team closed a deal with the Liqi to turn your solidarity mechanism rights into tokens in the coming weeks. The goal is to generate more revenue for the team.

Liqi has already closed a similar deal with Vasco. Teams from Brazil and abroad are using the possibilities that blockchain created to launch tokens like Coritiba’s, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) of images, for example, and tokens for fans. The latter generate revenue through fan engagement.

Coritiba was born in 1909 and since January it has had a new direction. “We understand that the current scenario in Coritiba is very promising and provides us with guidelines to develop new modernization strategies, which may impact the financial recovery. And so, in the position and status of the team”, says Juarez Moraes e Silva, president of Coxa.

The Solidarity Mechanism is a FIFA creation to reward clubs that train players. In this way, they can earn a percentage of the athlete’s subsequent sale.

“We are starting to write an important story alongside clubs in Brazil. We are accelerating here and we already have three other teams on our radar that should sign a contract with Liqi soon”, said Daniel Coquieri, CEO and founder of the startup.
