Colombian University will teach a course on Legal Blockchain


The Universidad del Rosario (UNR) in Bogotá, Colombia, will offer a seminar on blockchain legal, which will start from this next month of November 2021.

The “LegalTech” seminar is focused on blockchain solutions in law digital, artificial intelligence (HE), big data e internet of things, as well as the use of 4.0 technologies that allow the development of the skills and abilities of lawyers.

This training is organized by the Faculty of Jurisprudence of the UNR, and is scheduled from November 29 to December 11, 2021, with a duration of 32 academic hours.

Likewise, the course will have the participation of the speakers: Erick Rincón Cárdenas, Daniel Villarroel, Cristian Mendieta, Roberto Borras, Antonio Hernández Briz, Francisco Pinilla, Rocío Robles and Daniel Santiago Acevedo, who will be in charge of carrying out each of the themes proposed, with a contribution that presents real assumptions taken from the business context, from an international perspective (from practice in Europe).

The seminar aims to instruct on the technological infrastructure, the Block Chain, Blockchain, how is it technology is changing the legal landscape and developing a deep understanding of Legal Technology.

The training will be aimed at legal professionals: jurists, lawyers, legal advisors, notaries, registrars, judges, tax auditors, among others, with projects and initiatives that they want to put into operation, or those who are interested or work in technology companies and students of postgraduates interested in training in the digital ecosystem.

The Universidad del Rosario, intends that jurists can learn and apply digital legal models and digital business models, which are emerging with this boom of the fourth industrial revolution, and which in turn, has given way to a digital economy, based, for the most part, on the use of technological tools.

Consequently, the organizers point out that the seminar “Responds to changes in the legal industry, including the impact of globalization, innovation, and technology; with a practical approach to legal problems. To achieve this, the program will have a component of 30% theory and conceptualization, and 70% of activities oriented to practical learning ”.

Methodology

Also, it details that the aspects addressed in the seminar are related to the abilities of the blockchain in the legal industry.

Therefore, in the first module that will be developed in the seminar: “Digital technology law”, topics such as the fourth industrial revolution and digital transformation, legal tech, digital marketing, among others, were addressed.

Then, they will explain in a second module: “Digital economy and business”, the right to trade in Colombia and in the world, startups and entrepreneurship in the digital age, and the foundations of the digital company, among other topics. Finally, in module 3: “Digital Technology”, aspects such as, smart contracts, Internet of things, cybersecurity, among others.

In addition, they detail that the seminar is under a different inventiveness, leaving conventional classes behind. Likewise, under an active methodology, of workshops and of interaction with students (virtual), the university seeks to impart knowledge to professionals with the best blockchain practices in the LegalTech industry of Colombia and Spain.

Previously, the Universidad del Rosario has taught courses where blockchain technology is the essential axis of its training, an example of this is the initiative carried out with UNIFACS (Salvador University) of Brazil, who jointly launched the course “Introduction to blockchain, bitcoin and smart contracts “ in order to provide the knowledge for the development of a broad vision and critical evaluation capacity on the market from cryptocurrencies and the infrastructure of blockchain technology.
