Brazilian real estate rental startup creates metaverse building to simulate life in the future

Brazilian startup Housi, a pioneer in flexible housing and subscription rental options, created a virtual building in the metaverse Decentraland (MANA), where users will be able to experience living in virtual environments that replicate physical reality.

The “Housi do Futuro” is a kind of totally technological showroom that was set up in the lobby of the company’s building, at Rua Bela Cintra, 1425, in SĂŁo Paulo. The environment is entirely covered by LED screens, through which visitors can create their own avatars to interact with the company’s virtual space in the decentraland metaverse.

All the practicality of having services in the palm of your hand in a flexible and 100% digital housing model that connects people with experiences, will now be available in the virtual universe, from Housi’s AppSpace.

All services offered by Housi can be accessed through the AppSpace mobile application. According to Alexandre Frankel, CEO of Housi, the opening of a space in the metaverse is a new step in the process of digitizing and making the company’s services more flexible:

“The essence of Housi is innovative and disruptive. Our kick-off in this universe was when we presented the first enterprise connected to tokenization. Now, with Metaverso we will be able to serve our customers anywhere. Imagine being in a Housi from another state participating in an event in the Metaverse, and the best, in real time”.

Immersion in the futuristic apartment will present visitors with a projection of what life could be like in the near future. In a completely white room, furnished only with a bed, a computer and LED screens, visitors will be able to experience different digital experiences, expanding the physical space through virtual reality.

According to Frankel, the idea is for visitors to feel like part of an episode of “Black Mirror”, the popular series by Netflix, but without the dystopian and disturbing elements that haunt the characters of one of science fiction’s biggest recent hits:

“We want to continue with our purpose of connecting people with innovative experiences and now we will also do this in Web 3.0. The idea is to show Housi in the Future. People will be able to live in Housi to experience life in the parallel universe. It’s like a room in Black Mirror, it will be our Housi Pink Mirror”.

In the lobby of the building, all the services that Housi offers to the residents of its properties are concentrated: laundry, gym, grocery store, wine cellar, Pet area, pharmacy and 24-hour coffee shop.

On the ground floor, visitors will find works of art produced to order by artist Beto Gatti depicting variations of the company’s mascot, the Otto bear. The works will be available for sale in NFT versions.

In addition to the digital version of the works, these NFTs will unlock access to exclusive benefits for their holders in the future, such as: meetings with influencers, dinners with celebrities and access to VIP parties at Housi developments.

The coworking spaces that are part of Housi’s buildings can be accessed in their virtual version on the 3rd floor. Finally, the rooftop it will be a common space for users to participate in interactive and community activities.

The calendar of activities to be carried out in this space will still be published by Housi, but the idea is that there will be shows and community events, such as happy hours, treasure hunt challenges, guided tours of new ventures and lectures.

All events will be held simultaneously in the metaverse and in Housi’s developments, connecting residents and visitors in both the physical and digital environments.

The launch of Housi’s space in the metaverse will take place next Wednesday, the 18th, in the Bela Cintra building, for residents of SĂŁo Paulo, in parallel, in the Housi building in Decentraland, accessible to visitors from all over the world.

As Cointelegraph Brasil recently reported, the transition to a hybrid lifestyle, divided between the real world and virtual environments, is already starting to raise legal debates about laws that should be created for exclusive application in the metaverse.
