Bitso donates half a million dollars to the Government of Gibraltar


The platform cryptocurrencies Name announced this Tuesday, December 7, 2021 through a press release for Cointelegraph Español, the donation of half a million dollars to the Government of Gibraltar for the implementation of solutions blockchain in its infrastructure.

With this donation, the government Gibraltar hopes to advance the process of integrating the blockchain into government systems for electronic system functions, which in a pilot phase, they will allow residents of the country to keep credentials and certificates issued by the government in a secure and decentralized way.

Regarding the donation, the Minister of Financial and Digital Services of Gibraltar, Albert Isola, commented that “Bitso’s fantastic contribution is widely welcomed, as his generous donation to the government of Gibraltar will allow, not only for this project to become a reality, but for the work for said project to begin early in 2022 … The support and commitment of Bitso for the development of Gibraltar as an innovation center is highly appreciated and we are happy to continue to strengthen our relationship with them ”.

It is important to mention that Since 2019, Bitso has been licensed by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission Distributed Ledger Technology Regulatory Framework (GFSC).
