National Autonomous University of Mexico will teach a course on Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain technology


The Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), will offer the virtual course “cryptocurrencies & Blockchain”, which will be aimed at the general public, in order to provide clear knowledge about the fundamentals and applications of this technology, transactions, trading and DeFi, Decentralized Finance.

The Continuing Education Division (DEC) of the Faculty of Accounting and Administration of the Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), announced that it will launch a virtual course on cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology: “Cryptocurrencies & Blockchain”, which It will start this next September 1, 2021.

The training will last 20 academic hours and will be aimed at the general public, with or without prior knowledge on this subject, and who are interested in entering the world of digital assets, what they are and how it works, the risks in manage them, the benefits they offer and how they can function as financial instruments.

In addition, The objective set by the organizers of this meeting is to provide the participants with the range of knowledge on the basic fundamentals to be able to operate with crypto assets.

Training plan

The course will be taught by the Faculty of Accounting and Administration of the UNAM, in its online mode, and It will cost 4,200 Mexican pesos ($ 200) and will be certified by the House of Studies. Likewise, the seminar is scheduled to conclude on September 24, 2021, and classes will be held in the morning from 8 to 10 am, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Blockchain breaks into Higher Education

Currently, blockchain technology is being studied by several of the higher education institutions of Latin America, Either to give seminars, talks or incorporate as compulsory or elective subjects within their academic curriculum.

In addition, the Andrés Bello Catholic University of Venezuela, decided to incorporate blockchain technology as a compulsory subject within the curriculum of the Accounting career as of the October 2021 school semester.
