Banrisul will invest in 200 startups with new lines of credit

At least 200 Brazilian startups must receive contributions with an average value of R$ 300 thousand granted via Banrisul. The financial institution starts to operate with two new lines of promotion for research, development and innovation: Inovacred Expresso and Finep Conecta Automático. The start of this stimulus initiative was given this Friday (28), with the signing of a contract.

The first company to join Inovacred Expresso is agrotech Insumo Fácil. Founded in 2019, the startup integrates registered rural producers, suppliers and financial institutions. More companies should be contemplated with the possibility of obtaining investments for equipment, software, consulting services, systems development and training, among other advances, as published by the Fintechs Brasil, Blocknews partner site.

“This is yet another example of Banrisul’s presence in the day-to-day activities of companies, from the acceleration process to financing. Insumo Fácil is a startup accelerated by BanriTech, the bank’s initiative that drives the innovation ecosystem”, highlights Banrisul’s credit director, Osvaldo Lobo Pires.

According to the Product Development and Microcredit manager at Banrisul, Tiago Fernandes, the launch of the two lines marks a new phase, closer to the desires of those who undertake in this segment. “One of the main difficulties in accessing credit by startups is the set of guarantees required by banks; In this sense, as a differential, Banrisul will allow the use of the Investment Guarantee Fund (FGI) in these operations, as we know that this makes the process more accessible and inclusive”, he highlights.

The Inovacred Expresso line offers rates composed of the TJLP plus 5% per year and equalization of 40% of the TJLP, for companies with Gross Operating Revenue of up to R$16 million. The term is up to 48 months for payment. In this modality, it is necessary to have a history of intellectual property, or to have received incentives for innovation in the last 10 years, or to be installed or part of an incubator or technology park.

All startups that participated in the first BanriTech cycle, in 2021, and that participate in the next BanriTech acceleration cycles, qualify for this modality, conditioned to the availability of product resources and credit analysis.

Finep Conecta Automático is geared towards projects in partnership with universities and research institutions, with rates composed of the TJLP plus 5% per year, with equalization of 80% or 100% of the TJLP, according to the company’s Gross Operating Revenue and term of 60 months for payment. It allows the connection of the innovative company with an Institute of Science and Technology (ICT) registered by Finep. In this case, the funded technology services need to be performed by an ICT.
