Cryptocurrency association created code of ethics.
The Brazilian Association of Cryptoeconomics (ABCripto) has three new members. They are OWS Brasil, Easy Crypto and Uniera, which trade cryptos. With that, it has nine associates. In June, Travelex Bank, a foreign exchange brokerage, and Alter, a cryptocurrency, joined.
“Join us to build a healthy market for companies, regulators and people with blockchain initiatives.” That’s what Rodrigo Monteiro, executive director of ABCripto, said.
According to Gustavo Albanesi, CSO at Uniera, Uniera becomes part of “a proactive group”. For him, the group has a voice on issues such as regulation and legislation.
Cryptoeconomics Association released code of ethics
In August 2020, the association launched a Self-Regulation Code. The objective was to create an environment of more legal security, said the institution. So also demonstrated willingness to fill regulatory gaps. The code covers crypto transactions, money laundering and terrorist financing. The focus is on custody, intermediation and brokerage companies.
Lucas Orsolini, responsible for legal matters at OWS Brasil, stated that the institution reinforces its commitment to good practices. While André Sprone, responsible for Easy Crypto, said that the Associação Brasileira de Cryptoeconomia “reinforces our position as a serious company”.
In March 2021, the aassociation of criptoeconomia forwarded a complaint to regulatory bodies against the Binance. So, against the biggest broker in the world, to Organs regulatory bodies. The allegation is that the company is not authorized to be a financial and payment institution here. But, it lost BitPreço and Ripio as members after that. The companies had some business relationship with Binance. ABCripto said it understood their position.
The association forwarded the complaint, for example, to the Banco Central (BC). And also to Brazilian Securities Commission (CVM). ABCripto also said that it follows the expansion of Binance Futures. In addition, he asked for inspection, suspension or cancellation of the broker’s operation.
