Exclusive: 12 institutions asked the IRS to extend the deadline to adopt blockchain | blocknews

Federal Revenue accounts 27 cases of adoption of the solution and 49 still for adoption.

A total of 12 government public institutions asked the Federal Revenue (RF) to postpone the implementation of blockchain solutions for data sharing. The deadline was December 31 last. There is, however, a list of 49 projects to start or underway, some from the same institutions, according to exclusive information obtained with the agency by Blocknews.

The use of blockchain for public institutions to exchange information refers to b-CPF and b-CNPJ services. These institutions need to ask to join these systems, which make the exchange of information more agile and secure. At the beginning of last December, the RF published ordinance 89 of December 6, 2021, establishing the deadline for adhesion. However, it opened the possibility of requesting an extension.

The closest deadline to complete what is missing is from Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF), on January 31st. The longest term of the 12 institutions is that of Banco do Brasil (BB), which is on December 31, 2023.

The list and deadline of those who requested an extension are as follows:

National Agency for Supplementary Health (ANS) 30/06/2022
Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) 31/12/2022

According to information from the RF, adherence to the b-CPF is greater. There are 24 cases implemented and 26 that have already started or still need to start. This system came in at the end of 2019, that is, one year before the b-CNPJ. In the case of the latter, there are only 3 cases implemented and 23 that still need to start.
