For a year now, Binance has been ahead in the ranking of the highest volume of buying and selling of bitcoins (BTC) in Brazil, according to a survey by Cointrader Monitor, and in May it was no different: the Exchange was responsible for 51 .82% of trades, or 17,451.07 bitcoins. Second place went to national exchange BitPreço, which traded 15.52% (5,227.96) of BTC volume in the month.
The report indicated a movement of 33,673.53 bitcoins in May, up 52.51% from the volume recorded in April (22,079.97). In reais, the May data are equivalent to R$ 5.3 billion, an increase of 20.15% compared to the previous month.
Cointrader Monitor tracks information from 35 exchanges operating in Brazil through their respective information channels (API). During the month of May, the 29th was the day with the lowest movement, with 338.38 BTC (R$ 47,501,173.57); the 12th was the day with the highest movement, with 3,138.17 BTC traded, equivalent to BRL 471,549,758.44. The average daily volume in May was 1,086.24 BTC.
Annual Comparison
Compared to May 2021, the volume of BTC moved was down 35.98% as the volume for that month was 52,595 Bitcoins. In addition, the volume of Reais needed to move the amount of Bitcoins in May 2022 was 57.53% lower than in May 2021. According to the Cointrader Monitor survey, on May 1 the value of Bitcoin was Rs. R$ 192,410.86 and on the 31st it was R$ 151,507.91, a devaluation of 26% in the period.
