Cryptocurrency exchange Bybit and one of the biggest esports teams (eSports) from Brazil, Made In Brazil (MIBR), announced this week a three-year partnership agreement that provides for the sponsorship of MIBR teams and actions aimed at the financial education of gamers in relation to investments in crypto assets, in addition to promoting the engagement of the community formed by approximately four million people. Which, in this case, will involve launching a cryptocurrency.
The companies’ statement stressed that the MIBR cryptocurrency objective will represent the second phase of the partnership, aimed at promoting engagement between the community and MIBR teams, although it did not make it clear whether the crypto in question will be a governance token, a utility token (utility token), or non-fungible tokens (NFTs) linked to events, for example.
The first phase of the partnership provides for the development of content related to the crypto universe and financial education through the organization’s digital channels, focusing on gamers who seek to diversify and invest in digital currencies.
I’m happy to have Bybit as a partner for the next 36 months! Together we will put MIBR on the Web 3.0, better understanding our fans’ interests in the world of digital assets and delivering great experiences. Just like the Bybit slogan mentions, we will take MIBR to the next level declared the CEO of MIBR, Roberta Coelho.
Bybit was also excited about the partnership, noting that:
We are looking forward to the partnership with MIBR, which will be Bybit Brasil’s first sponsorship. We share the sportsmanship and desire to be the best in a game. Whether in the financial and innovation segment or in the competitive eSports environment, being a good player requires intense work to improve your performance and build good strategies.
Challenge
MIBR players already have a new challenge ahead of them from the new partnership. They will participate in a global crypto event organized by Bybit, the “World Series of Trading” (WSOT) 2022, “Série Mundial de Negociação” in Portuguese translation. Each team belonging to the Bybit family will present their best players in an investment competition, leading their groups to a prize pool of $8 million dollars and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), according to the statement.
Women
According to Bybit, the partnership is also a pillar of changing the perception of women in the world of games and technology, arguing that “Gender equality is a mission that is at the heart of the company. In addition to investing in the MIBR women’s CS:GO and Valorant teams, we will continue to create initiatives with the purpose of empowering women in games. Bybit Brasil will work with its global team to help women gamers identify opportunities in Web 3.0.”
The announcement of the partnership takes place within the scope of the expansion of Bybit’s operations in Brazil through an investment of US$ 50 million in the country. This includes the creation of a team dedicated to Brazilian investors, as well as the adaptation of products and services in Portuguese, in line with the culture of the country’s investors, as reported by the Cointelegraph Brazil.
